01— Our Process

FROM BRIEF
TO PALLET, STAGE-GATED.

Five stages, each exiting with a deliverable you can hold or read. You move forward only when the numbers work — risk is retired before capital is spent.

WHAT EACH STAGE
ACTUALLY DELIVERS.

01
Proof of Concept

Brief & Bench

Timeline2–6 wk
Investment$3k – $8k

We start where the risk is highest and the cost is lowest. Bench-scale formulation validates crush strength, bulk density and ingredient compatibility before anyone commits capital.

You leave this stage with

Go / no-go recommendation
02
Economic Validation

Feasibility

Timeline2–4 wk
Investment$5k – $12k

We answer the only question that matters at scale: what does this cost per ton, and where does it break? Process parameters, scale-up math and a complete commercialization roadmap.

— Common Questions

HOW THE ENGAGEMENT WORKS.

How long does it take to scale a formulation to commercial production?

A typical Renovo engagement reaches its first commercial batch in 8 to 12 weeks. That covers the formulation brief and bench work, a feasibility study on the real equipment, a pilot run at intermediate scale, and then the commercial campaign. Materials that need coating development or unusual drying profiles sit at the longer end of that window.

What happens at each stage of the toll manufacturing process?

Four stage gates. Brief and bench establishes whether the material granulates at all, using 5 lb samples. Feasibility runs it on production equipment at small scale to fix binder ratios and drying curves. Pilot proves the parameters hold at intermediate tonnage. The commercial run then produces to spec with a certificate of analysis on every batch.

Do I keep ownership of my formulation?

Yes. Renovo works under NDA from first contact, and the client retains full ownership of the formulation, the process parameters developed for it, and any intellectual property arising from the work. Renovo supplies the equipment, process engineering and labour; it does not take a stake in the client's product or sell competing versions of it.

What testing does Renovo run on finished granules?

Renovo's in-house analytical lab tests crush strength, particle size distribution, moisture content and bulk density on production batches. Results are recorded against the batch and issued as a certificate of analysis. Testing during feasibility and pilot uses the same methods, so the numbers a client approves at pilot are directly comparable to what ships commercially.
