FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS

What is biochar granulation?

+
Biochar granulation converts fine biochar powder into uniform granules using a binder and agitation equipment. Raw biochar is light, dusty and difficult to spread; granulating it raises bulk density, cuts airborne dust, and lets growers apply it with standard spreading equipment instead of specialised gear. Renovo granulates biochar on the disc and rotary drum line.

What SGN sizes work for agricultural granules?

+
Most agricultural products land between SGN 200 and SGN 280, which spreads cleanly through conventional equipment and blends without segregating. Renovo produces from 400 microns up to SGN 300+. The right target depends on what the product will be blended with — components should sit within roughly 10 percent SGN of each other to stay homogeneous in the bag.

Can biological products survive granulation?

+
Yes, on the right line. Renovo runs microbial inoculants, biostimulants and peptide-based products on Line 1, where a pin mixer is paired with a fluidized bed dryer operating at 40 to 120 °C. Low-temperature inline drying removes moisture to under 2 percent without the thermal spike that kills viable organisms in drum-dried processes.

Do you manufacture controlled-release fertilizers?

+
Yes, we apply polymer and biodegradable coatings for controlled nutrient release. Our NATRiX carbon-urea matrix technology delivers microbe-triggered nitrogen release over 60-90 days.

What is the minimum order for agricultural toll processing?

+
Pilot batches start at 500 lbs. Commercial production scales from 1 ton to multi-ton truckloads. We accommodate growth from bench-scale testing through full commercialization.
